Menzaleh Temple No. 16
Menzaleh Temple No. 16 was instituted in 1923 in Sacramento, California. Our stated sessions are held on the first Saturday of each month (except for July and August) at 1:00 P.M. at the George Primrose Masonic Temple, 3010 Becerra Way, Sacramento, CA, 95825. Our presiding officer is titled Her Majesty, the Queenand all ladies of the household are Princesses. Initiation ceremonials are generally held twice a year, in the fall and spring. Membership is drawn from Northern California with the same boundaries as Ben Ali Temple.
Performing Units include the Choral, Patrol and Pageantry who perform at our sessions and at ceremonials.
We have Nile Clubs in Chico, Grass Valley, Roseville, Vallejo and also at the Masonic Home in Union City. They sew for the hospital and have fundraisers to benefit the Daughters of the Nile Foundation. The Foundation monies go directly to the Shriners Hospitals. The Queen visits each club twice a year for Installation of officers and for her Official Visit. We also have the Sacramento Sewing Club which meets at the Hart House on the second Thursday from 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. The Hospital Needs Chairman serves as a liaison with the Hospital and allows us to direct our sewing to meet the special needs of the children.
Our primary fundraiser for the Hospitals is our annual Fall Festival and we welcome everyone to join us for this fun event.
